It’s hard to define who Timothy Mark is. He is a singer. He is a
songwriter. He is an author, preacher and a conference speaker. But if you ask him to define
himself he will tell you that he is simply a communicator. And he will use
whatever it takes to get the message across.
For Timothy Mark, the passion of his life is to communicate what it means
to be in a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. “My heart is broken
over the state of the church in North America today” says Mark. “The vast
majority of our churches are declining in membership. Yet all around us
people are searching for answers in their lives. They are looking for a
real relationship while the church is going through the motions of being
religious. I believe God has his hand on my life to call the church in
North America to be the church He intended her to be. That is the passion of my
life.”
Timothy Mark brings to the ministry a desire for the audience to
experience genuine relationship with God. Mark leads an audience to the
place where they realize a growing relationship with God is the only thing
that will fill the emptiness in their lives. Songs such as “What if
There’s a God?” and “The Church across the Street” reach out to the
individuals in the Christian community with a call to live out what they
say they believe.
Timothy Mark was born into a Pastor's home in the spring of 1965 in the
little town of North Adams, Michigan. Growing up in the church meant many
opportunities to be involved and it was there that he developed his love
for music and ministry. Since 1988, Mark has ministered across the United
States as a soloist and speaker bringing with him experience as a member
of the Coronation Brass for two years and also the Master's Men for two
years, both of Tennessee Temple University. That year Mark released his
first custom recording, Sentimental Christmas, and began to develop the
ministry. Today, through Mark's involvement with overseas missions and a
thriving internet presence, the non-profit organization has grown into an
international ministry.
As a former part-time Minister of Worship at a local church, Mark
understands the unique needs of Pastors who are looking to bring in a
minister for an event. “It is always a challenge to present worship and
ministry in a relevant, ministry oriented way.” says Mark. “I've been
privileged to present this ministry in large and small churches, military
bases, and camps across the United States as well as internationally. I
have found one common denominator wherever I have gone. People need God.
And because I also need God I find there is an understanding between
myself and an audience. It says ‘I know how it feels to long for a
relationship with God. And this is how I have found Him to abundantly meet
the needs in my life’.”
Mark’s newest CD release “What I Believe” is one of the tools he uses to
communicate that truth. The CD production was completed in early 2005 and
has been received with high acclaim for its lyrical depth and musical
production. Previous projects include The Nature of Love, an instrumental
album which showcases his piano artistry and focuses on the love
relationship we have with God. The Missing Part album, another previous
release, features Timothy's song writing talent and vocals with songs that
are encouraging and uplifting. The website also features free downloads of
several of his messages.
In a culture where the business of Christian music often eclipses the
ministry aspect, Mark stands out for his commitment to influence over
income. All of the ministry events are booked on a simple offering basis
and the CDs are made available through the events on a donation only
basis. His music and messages are even available for free download from
the ministry’s web site at www.timothymark.com. “What makes it so
exciting” says Mark, “is being able to have a far reaching influence on
the body of Christ. I get emails from folks around the world who are being
ministered to through the free downloads on the web site. That’s worth
more to me than any royalty I could receive for charging for the music or
messages.”
In a world searching for the truth, Timothy Mark has something to say. And
people are listening.
